You are watching: Copy elvui profile to another computer

Hello everyone, i"ve been using elvui for a while and ofcourse over the time i"ve made many changes to my interface. Today i needed to format my pc and i searched a way to safely backup all my add-ons settings, my elvui profiles etc... I"ve been told that i had to save my whole WTF folder and my "interface" folder and so that"s what i did, but now after i have reinstalled WoW, jamesmerse.com and the Twitch app for the other addons, replaced the 2 folders (Interface and WTF) when i launch wow and login my characters, no setting have been saved, it"s like the very first time i installed them, can anyone please help me figure this out? i"m going crazy. Thanks in advance

The interface folder has the Addons folder (which just has the addons, no settings)The WTF folder has the settings. Open the folder up. It should contain Account folder\*Account Name*\*Server*\*Character names Does the WTF folder contain these?
yes it does, for example the character which i care most about is named akai and there: "D:\WTF backup\WTF\Account\455321589#1\Ravencrest\Akai\SavedVariables" i can see "ElvUI.lua" and "Elvui.lua.bak" among all the others addons.PSjust to be clear, I"m copying only the WTF folder in the right directory "E:\World of Warcraft\", not the whole "WTF backup"
Copy the back up of the WTF you made into the new wow folder. There will be already a WTF folder there, wow automatically creates it. Copy over it.
Yes that"s exactly what i did, it ask me if i want to override the files, i press yes, but doesn"t work

Delete the new WTF folder (not your backup) and then copy your backup to the WoW folder. If it still doesn"t work then your backup of the WTF folder does not contain the settings you thought it did.

Also check that you don’t have two wow installs & installing the wtf folder in one & playing from the other. In Blizzard app, click on the small arrow beside Blizzard logo, Click "Settings, Click "Game Install/Update" Check the file path. Is it the same file path as you are putting the wtf folder?

I already tried and for the blizzard client my wow client is located in "E:\World of Warcraft\" and that"s exactly where i"m trying to replace the wtf folder. I know it"s quite odd since everybody seems to backup those file without any trouble
